A really special little piece with wartime history. This hand-turned redwood box features beautiful alternating stripes of redwood and lighter wood, with a fitted lid. The original “Products of the California Redwood Forests” label is intact on the bottom, along with a handwritten inscription dating it to 1943 (“Sent to me from Ray from Calif. 1943, Marie Boudet”). These were popular tourist and souvenir pieces in the 1930s-50s, but the named provenance and the wartime date make this one extra special.
