The second of three original paintings by Connecticut artist James R. Pascucci (1928–2015), and this one is SUCH a happy painting. 🍐🌷
A blue and white pitcher overflowing with flowers, little blue cups, pears scattered across the table and my fave part, a casually draped striped cloth. I love the loose, expressive brushwork and saturated color. It feels collected and unfussy.
Pascucci spent much of his life here in Fairfield County, living in Weston and later Wilton. He studied art in New Haven, was active with the Ridgefield Arts Guild. His work drew heavily from the CT landscapes, flowers, gardens and everyday scenes around him, becoming increasingly Impressionistic later in his career.
