This one is such a statement piece! Standing over two feet tall, this beautifully weathered Santos-style figure has an expressive face, layers of worn paint, and a wonderfully primitive open cage base.
Santos figures have roots in religious devotional art, and cage-style figures were traditionally designed to be dressed in fabric garments. I especially love the sculptural quality of this one, even without clothing. Such an interesting piece of folk art!
